This piece is a response to the title In Real Time. I created the painting to reflect on a nostalgic yet mundane moment from my life, creating the feeling of a scene I’ve observed since childhood: looking out the window while making breakfast, watching my grandad water the flowers in the garden.
For this exhibition, I focused on creating a playful, child-oriented scene that captures themes of nostalgia, joy, and childhood. The works emphasize vivid colours and intuitive mark-making to evoke a sense of wonder and spontaneity.
